Self Care For Disability Support Professionals

This course will highlight why it is so vital that you spend time and effort caring for ‘yourself’, particularly when you have a position that involves caring for others. The course will breakdown the 6 key contributing factors which result to good Self Care. You will be given tips and activities and will also have the chance to complete a self assessment and create a Self Care plan.

After this lesson you will be able to:

a) Express what Self-Care is and why it is so important.
b) Recall what the six areas of Self-Care are: Physical, Emotional, Spiritual, Psychological, Personal (relationship with self and others) and Professional.
c) Describe what factors result to good: Physical, Emotional, Spiritual, Psychological, Personal and Professional.
d) Describe what factors result to poor: Physical, Emotional, Spiritual, Psychological, Personal and Professional.
e) Describe how you are tracking with each of the six areas of Self-Care.
f) Share your Self-Care plan with others (if you desire).
