* Note: there likely will be a third Leadership course whereby the leader is required to reflect and identify their leadership style (strengths and areas for improvement), then determine strategies to develop themselves, aligned to best practice leadership methodologies.

3. Human Resource Management Pt 1

By the end of this course, Managers will be able to:

a) Understand and use key Human Resource Management terms and concepts.
b) Understand key trends of Australian Disability Sector – Human Resource Statistics.
c) Understand why Human Resource Management is important in your role as a Middle Manager or Executive Manager in the Australian Disability Sector.
d) Understand Human Resource Management Best Practice Basics within topics – Performance Management, and Diversity and Inclusion.

4. Human Resource Management Pt 2

By the end of this course, Managers will be able to:

a) Understand Human Resource Management (HRM) Best Practice basics within topics – Workforce Planning, Recruitment and Induction.
b) Understand the NDIS and WHS, and HR Relations.
c) Reflective exercise: Middle Managers or Executive Manager will review how they are currently influencing their organisation’s health from a HRM perspective.
d) Reflective exercise: Recommend and justify an appropriate / workable way they can improve their HRM contribution.
e) Reflective exercise: Draft an implementation/action plan.

5. Financial literacy Pt 1

By the end of this course, Managers will be able to:

a) Understand and use key financial terms and concepts.
b) Understand key trends of Australian Disability Sector – Finance Statistics.
c) Understand why this is important in your role as a Middle Manager or Executive Manager.
d) Understand what is meant by Financial Health.
e) Understand the 3 key financial statements – Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement.
f) Know how their role as a Middle Manager or Executive Manager contributes to the financial health of the organisation.
g) Know best practice and ways they can influence and contribute to the financial health of the organisation.

6. Financial Literacy Pt2

By the end of this course, Managers will be able to:

a) Interpret the 3 key financial statements – Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement.
b) Understand Basic forecasting and budgeting.
c) Understand variances and common corrective action.
d) Reflective exercise: Middle Managers or Executive Manager will be guided to review their immediate team’s outcomes achieved and the financial implications of these.
e) Reflective exercise: Consider ways to improve the financial impacts they have on their organisation.
f) Reflective exercise: Draft an implementation/action plan.

7. Handling Client Complaints

By the end of this course, Managers will be able to:

a) Know the Legal Requirements of Complaints Handling.
b) Know why it is important in their role as a Middle Manager or Executive Manager.
c) Understand the Complaints Handling Process from a Middle Management and Executive Manager Perspective.
d) Understand how to manage/support the management of a formal complaint which has been received by the NDIS commission about their organisation.
e) Know the common mistakes in the complaint handling process and how to avoid these.

8. Marketing Pt1

By the end of this course, Managers will be able to:

a) Know what Marketing is.
b) Understand and use key Marketing terms and concepts.
c) Understand why this is important in their role as a Middle Manager or Executive Manager.
d) Understand the importance of being marketing oriented in the NDIS.
e) Understand key participant/NDIS market trends.
f) Understand what influences participants when choosing a service provider.

9. Marketing Pt2

By the end of this course, Managers will be able to:

a) Know 3 common strategies for improving Marketing Performance.
b) Understand common marketing mistakes and corrective action.
c) Reflective exercise: Middle Managers or Executive Manager will review how they are currently influencing their organisation’s health from a marketing perspective.
d) Reflective exercise: Recommend and justify an appropriate / workable way they can improve their marketing contribution.
e) Reflective exercise: They will then draft an implementation/action plan.

10. Stakeholder Management

By the end of this course, Managers will be able to:

a) Understand what Stakeholder Management is.
b) Understand why this is important in their role as a Middle Manager or Executive Manager.
c) Know how to drive results and benefits through effective collaboration.
d) Know best practice communication and influencing tips.
e) Generate buy-in and cooperation from key stakeholders.

11. High Performance Framework (operations)

By the end of this course, Managers will be able to:

a) Map their organisation’s key functions.
b) Identify and review their performance, gaps and strengths.
c) Understand the impacts of these leading and lagging functions.
d) Understand common leading and lagging challenges within the Australian Disability Sector.
e) Understand best practice tools on how to remove obstacles to progress and success.

12. NDIS and Programming

By the end of this course, Managers will be able to:

a) Know the NDIS service rules 2018.
b) Understand the code of conduct, NDIS Practice Standards and their influence as a Middle Manager or Executive Manager in the successful delivery of these.
c) Know common misconceptions/misunderstandings of the Practice Standards.
d) Know some successful tips on how they can improve the delivery of the Practice Standards in their business.

13. Managing Change Pt1

By the end of this course, Managers will be able to:

a) Know what Change Management is.
b) Know why it is important as a Middle Manager or Executive Manager in the Australian Disability Sector.
c) Know the difference between Organisation and Individual Change Management.
d) Know best practice tools on Individual Change Management.
e) Know Best practice tools on Organisation Change Management.
f) Know how to put this all together.

14. Quality Decision Making

By the end of this course, Managers will be able to:

a) Describe what quality decision making looks like.
b) Know why it is important as a Middle Manager or Executive Manager within the Australian Disability Sector.
c) Know common situations which take place in the Disability Support environment, and the reactive versus planned outcomes which can transpire.
d) Know Quality Decision making Best Practice tools.
e) Explore how they can use these tools in their role as a Middle Manager or Executive Manager.

15. Quality Service Provision

By the end of this course, Managers will be able to:

a) Understand the importance of Quality Service Provision in the Australian Disability Sector.
b) Understand how their role as a Middle Manager or Executive Manager is crucial to their organisation’s Quality Service.
c) Understand Quality Service Best Practice tools.
d) Know how to implement these tools.
e) Know how this correlate to your organisation meeting the NDIS commissions expectations.

16. The NDIS and Service Delivery – Getting Audit Ready

By the end of this course, Managers will be able to:

a) Understand the basics of the Auditing process.
b) Understand how they play a key role in the auditing process as a Middle or Executive Manager.
c) Understand Common Misconceptions/miscommunications.
d) Understand how to help avoid these in their role as a Middle Manager and Executive Manager.

17. Networking for Success

By the end of this course, Managers will be able to:

a) Understand the key characteristics of effective networking.
b) Understand why networking is important as a Middle or Executive Manager in the Australian Disability Sector.
c) Understand what network “traps” are and how to avoid them.
d) Understand what it takes to be successful, and how to achieve quick and easy wins to get started.
e) Identify specific ways Middle Managers and Executive can cross a network boundary and make a new introduction.
f) Understand how they can strengthen an existing relationship.

18. Key Performance Indicators Pt1

By the end of this course, Managers will be able to:

a) Clearly understand what Key Performance Indicators are.
b) Know the impact they have on the organisation’s budget and overall success.
c) Understand what Key Performance Indicators look like to individual employees.
d) Know Key Performance Management Tools which maximise positive organisational outcomes achieved and ensure organisation alignment.
e) Know what common issues are in KPI Management.
f) Understand how to deploy and promote, activate, report, and visualise their organisation’s KPI.
