It is recommended that you review the NDIS Practice Standards and Quality Indicators in line with the Support and Services you and your organisation offer to identify your individualised compliance / audit requirements. For example, you may be required to also complete our Complex Care Pathway.
NDIS Key Requirements Course List:
The Disability Support Induction pathway provides essential knowledge and skills required to get started in your role as a Disability Support Professional.

The SIL and SDA Essentials Pathway has been designed for Disability Support Professionals who offer Supported Independent Living and Specialised Disability Accommodation Supports.
This pathway focuses on building essential and core competencies which are required when assisting participants who want to live independently or in a group shared home. Importantly, the focus of this pathway is to help you achieve consistent quality care across your team.
In this pathway, you will learn how to support someone with their personal care needs such as showering and dressing, how to help your participants with meal preparation, how to keep them safe from fire in their home (how to look for fire hazards, prevent fires, escape or put a fire out) and how to best support a person on the autism spectrum disorder.
If you offer SDA supports, we encourage you to pair this pathway with another. For example, the Complex Care Pathway or Mental Health and Positive Outcomes Pathway, depending on the specialisation of the supports you offer.
SIL and SDA Essentials Course List:
The Mental Health and Positive Outcomes Pathway is in many ways crucial when offering supports to people living with Disability. People living with a psychosocial disability are one of the largest primary disability groups among NDIS Disability Support. Furthermore, outside of a formal diagnosis many more participants need mental health support from time-to-time.
This pathway will empower you and your Disability Support Professionals effectively navigate the complexities of mental health challenges which may arise in Disability Support Work, resulting in a more comprehensive and holistic level of care. It will also give Disability support Professionals a valuable toolkit which will help them de-escalate serious situations, for example in the event of a participant considering or attempting suicide.
In addition, the pathway will teach you and your Disability Support Professionals about shame and guilt and how to help a participant move out of a shame state into a positive outlook, how to help someone whom has experienced trauma, and how to best support someone living schizophrenia, bipolar or personality disorder.
Mental Health and Positive Outcomes Course List:
The Complex Care Pathway has been designed to build specialised skills which are required for higher risk supports. This pathway is very important as it will help you and your Disability Support Professionals deliver safe, quality and person-centred supports. It will also help your organisation be compliant with the NDIS Practice Standards.
This pathway will take you on a journey whereby complex care topics are broken down into smaller compartments and built upon to a level of core competency. You will be asked to practice your skills, which will help you retain the important information you have learnt. Most of complex care topics in this course require a competency assessment to be completed by a relevant qualified professional after the training. It is recommended that you review the NDIS Practice Standards and Quality Indicators in line with your Support and Services offered to identify your individualised compliance and audit requirements.
In this pathway, you will learn how to effectively support someone living with diabetes. You will also learn about epilepsy, seizure management and what to do if a participant has a seizure, PEG feeding, Cather Management and Bowel Care Management. You will learn what to do, but also what often goes wrong and how to ensure these common errors do no take place.

You will gain in-depth understandings of behaviour change through a series of Positive Behaviour Courses. You will learn about restrictive practice, your own cultural biases and how to be cultural aware, how to effectively receive feedback and create a growth-centred mindset or growth-centred organisation. You will learn how to solve problems in your everyday work through a best practice toolkit, and importantly how to take care of yourself to ensure you replenish your energy. The position of a Disability Support Professional is very rewarding but can be challenging, so you must care and nurture yourself too to ensure long term success.
