Antimicrobial Stewardship

In this course, you’ll gain an understanding of antimicrobial stewardship and its significance in all aged care settings. First, we will explore the critical role of antimicrobial stewardship in enhancing the Aged Care Quality Standards and gain an understanding of antimicrobial resistance, including its potential dangers to individuals. Next, we will look at antibiotic misuse, its categories, associated harms, and common misconceptions, including the consequences of antimicrobial resistance. Lastly, you will learn about the responsibilities of aged care workers, emphasising three key elements of care and proper antibiotic use.
