Assisting Individuals with Medication Bundle

This comprehensive bundle combines both parts of the Medication Assistance course, equipping aged care workers with essential knowledge and skills to safely and effectively support individuals with their medication needs.

Part 1 introduces the fundamentals of medication, including types, the importance of medication reviews, and the role and obligations of aged care workers in medication assistance. It covers Dose Administration Aids and common medication risks, building confidence and competence in medication management within the scope of practice to ensure individual safety and well-being.

Part 2 builds on this foundation by exploring key medication safety principles through the “10 Rights” framework, outlining specific steps for providing appropriate assistance, and detailing best practices for handling, storing, and disposing of medication. It also addresses monitoring and responding to medication-related incidents, such as side effects, adverse events, and errors.
