This extensive pathway combines 11 courses to equip aged care workers with the knowledge and skills to safely and effectively assist ageing individuals with diverse medication needs.

The series begins with foundational courses introducing medication types, the importance of medication reviews, and the “10 Rights” framework, alongside the roles and obligations of aged care workers in medication management. These courses cover Dose Administration Aids, common risks, and best practices for handling, storing, and disposing of medications, as well as monitoring and responding to incidents like side effects and errors.

The bundle then provides specialised training on administering specific medication types, including buccal and sublingual oral, ear, eye, oral (tablets and liquids), PRN, suppository and enema, topical, transdermal patch, and inhaler medications. Each specialised course explores the medications involved, preparation and planning, specific administration steps, and completion of the administration process to ensure safety and compliance.
