The Aged Care Foundations Pathway combines 8 essential modules to build core skills for safe, high-quality, person-centred aged care in line with the strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards and the Aged Care Act.
You will cover:

- The 7 strengthened Quality Standards (Parts 1 & 2): person-centred care, clinical services, nutrition, dementia support, compliance, risk management, and audit readiness.
- Preventing and responding to elder abuse (all forms).
- Promoting choice, independence, dignity of risk, and quality of life.
- Incident management and reporting under the Serious Incident Response Scheme (SIRS).
- Enhancing mealtime and dining experiences to meet nutritional and cultural needs.
- Falls prevention and management (risks, strategies, post-fall care).
- Dysphagia management using the IDDSI framework, texture modification, acknowledged risk approaches, and choking response.
This pathway equips aged care workers with evidence-based practices, documentation, monitoring tools, and collaborative strategies to support the safety, dignity, and well-being of diverse ageing individuals in residential and home care settings.
