In this course, you will understand how a person-centred Behaviour Support plan is created, and how to implement and monitor effective plans for individuals in aged care that proactively address changed behaviours with tailored strategies, moving beyond generic solutions. You will also master consistent plan implementation, adapting interventions to individual needs, addressing behaviour triggers, and aligning with legislative and evidence-based practices. Additionally, you will learn the importance of accurate data collection using tools such as Behaviour Assessment Forms and Frequency Charts, alongside consultations, to evaluate the effectiveness of your strategy. Lastly, you will learn to gather additional data through progress notes and incident reports and recognise the role of the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (ACQSC) in ensuring quality and safety in aged care.
