You will explore the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework, the role of Support Coordination, and how to build participant capacity while upholding quality and safety standards.

You will learn what Support Coordination is, the different levels of support available, and the key activities Support Coordinators use to help participants understand, implement, and monitor their NDIS plans. The pathway covers the NDIS planning process, person-centred goal setting, plan budgets, and how funding can be used across support categories, including travel.

Support Coordination – Part 1

1. Know what Support Coordination is, and identify the key experiences and qualities of Support Coordinators.
2. Know who can access funding for Support Coordination and the process for determining eligibility for these supports.
3. Describe key activities and responsibilities of Support Coordinators.
4. Identify some common challenges and misconceptions related to the role and know how to address them.

Support Coordination – Part 2

1. Understand consent required to access information about a participant and their NDIS plan.
2. Review NDIS plan information, interpret participant goals, and understand how they link to supports in the plan.
3. Know how the NDIS funds travel for participants and providers.
4. Identify three phases of support coordination activities to understand, action, and monitor NDIS Plan implementation.

Support Coordination – Part 3

1. Assist participants in understanding their NDIS plan budget and how to manage it when working with providers.
2. Utilise budget calculation tools and resources to determine the available service hours for supports.
3. Identify and effectively track billable and non-billable activities.

Complaints & Reportable Incidents

1. Receive complaints.
2. Explain best practice for handling complaints.
3. Identify reportable incidents and follow procedures for reporting.

Professional Boundaries
